In 2016, Dr. Philip Jull founded the Veterinary Specialty Clinic for Anesthesia and Neurology (the VSCAN) in central Ottawa. With a vision of providing exceptional care Dr. Jull established a multidisciplinary practice devoted to neurology, neurosurgery, anesthesia, and imaging. Through a collaborative approach that involves referring veterinarians, clients, and a highly skilled team, the VSCAN has cultivated a culture of excellence and compassion, ensuring the best possible outcomes for its patients.
Dr. Jull’s passion for Neurology began early in his career. After graduating from the University of Glasgow,he completed an internship in Canada. He added to his expertise through a busy neurology and neurosurgery residency at the Royal Veterinary College in London where he earned a Masters in Seizure Management.
His credentials speak volumes, including certifications in Advanced Techniques in the Management of Veterinary Spinal Disorders and Traumatic Brain disease as well as dual board certifications from the European College of Veterinary Neurology and the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine &Feline).
Dr. Jull enjoys the challenges of both medical and surgical neurology with a special interest in using CT/MR Imaging for surgical planning allowing a minimally invasive approach, along with the treatment of complex spinal malformations. His contributions to the field extend beyond clinical practice, with publications in international journals and presentations at both national and international conferences. Dr. Jull has supervised both American (ACVIM) and European (ECVN) residents. Drawing from his experience in medical and surgical neurology which stems from working in Europe, North America and Australia, Dr. Jull brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to his practice. Beyond the VSCAN, Philip enjoys exploring the outdoors of Ottawa and the region with his family, embracing the spirit of his hometown.
